‘Night Across the Street’
When regarding a director’s last film, there’s a risk of embalming it in a shroud of morbid significance. Such is the case with the critical reception to Raúl Ruiz’s Night Across the Street due to no one less than the director himself. In the following video, I make the case for drawing as much enjoyment from viewing the reference-rich Night Across the Street as the director had in making it.
