The Handsomest Directors in Movie History

Frank Borzage

Leave it to the Self-Styled Siren to come up with this one: she’s picked out ten directors that she considers the handsomest of all time. She’s got the photos to prove it (as well as anecdotes – hear the one about the director who scored with both Bette Davis and Joan Crawford… and lived to tell the tale?). Though The Siren picks these directors as the most handsome of all time, they all hearken back to yesteryear – surely there’s one to be found today that meets the mark?

Not counting those who work as actors (which I suppose would be somewhat unfair to those strictly behind the camera), among directors working today, there’s the dashing Tony Gilroy, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, and, begrudgingly, Michael Bay… but I think my vote would go for Pedro Costa.
