The San Francisco International Film Festival kicks off this weekend with nearly 100 features in the lineup. We’ll be reporting highlights over the weekend.

To get things going, here’s a video essay recently produced by a new Keyframe contributor and Bay Area native Serena Bramble (who was also the talent behind the Endless Night film noir tribute). This time she’s taken clips from several films to portray San Francisco as the ultimate cinematic crime scene. With clips from Vertigo, Zodiac, The Maltese Falcon and others in the mix, it’s hard not to argue.
