Pick of the Week: The Inner Life of a Genius Musician

This is the first of what should be a regular series of videos coinciding with our Pick of the Week, a special title singled out from our ever-growing catalog.

This week, it’s Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould. Last Christmastime I was idly flipping through channels and came across this documentary on PBS. I couldn’t stop watching it. Partly because Gould was a hero of mine during college (as he became for many at the time who caught director Francois Girard’s startlingly original 32 Short Films About Glenn Gould). But also because the quality of the archival footage is so crisp and clear, that the energy of Gould and his performances really comes through. Even if you’re not a classical music fan, Gould’s presence will draw you in and make you a believer.
