Amy S. Weber is an award-winning writer, producer, and director with over 20 years in the industry. She has been recognized for her directorial work twice by Emmy as well as Best in Show at Mobius, and has earned over 50 Telly nods. Her feature film, A Girl Like Her, (2015) that she wrote, produced, and directed, debuted in theaters across the nation and became a Netflix viral sensation, gaining worldwide attention and praise during its digital release in 2016, and remains one of the top bully movies today. She is currently penning the highly-anticipated sequel, A Girl Like Him, a transgendered love story, set in another American high school.
In this episode, Hooman and Chris ask about the origins of the feature film and how it came to be such a success across a wide demographic, as well as getting a closer look at what is to come next from Weber.
