David Bordwell’s Tips on How to Watch Fantômas

It’s very exciting to see one of the very best movie blogs discuss one of the very best movies – and one film that happens available on Fandor. Over at Observations on Film and Film Art, David Bordwell, whose Film Art: An Introduction (co-written with Kristin Thompson) is standard reading in just about every introductory film class in America, offers a generous walk through of Louis Feuillade’s immortal silent crime serial Fantômas.

Be sure to read Bordwell’s tipsheet, which also provides links to further reading on Feuillade and Fantômas. Fandor’s own Fantômas coverage includes articles by Jonathan Rosenbaum and yours truly. And, of course, you can watch each installment of Fantômas here at Fandor.
