“While The Weinstein Company have quickly gotten the buzz started around Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained and Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master,” notes Kevin Jagernauth at the Playlist, “they’ve been a bit slower on rolling out the campaign for David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook after all three screened footage early for press at the Cannes Film Festival…. Pretty much matching exactly what we saw in France,” the just-released first trailer “serves as pretty decent guide to the characters we’ll meet.”
Silver Linings Playbook is based on the novel by Matthew Quick, a “riotous and poignant story of how one man regains his memory and comes to terms with the magnitude of his wife’s betrayal,” and features Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Anupam Kher, Chris Tucker, Taylor Schilling, Shea Whigham, Julia Stiles, Jacki Weaver, and John Ortiz.
