And the Winner of the Fan d’Or is…

Michael Haneke Palme d'or

As Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life won the coveted Palme d’Or for best film at Cannes yesterday, we awarded our own prize, the Fan d’Or for best Cannes-related film on Fandor. A week of voting on our Facebook page resulted in much support being spread among the 17 titles in competition. Films like Anchoress, The Red and the White and The Sacrifice made strong showings. But ultimately it was two films, Happy Together and Funny Games that shared the top spot with the most votes. Congratulations to directors Wong Kar-Wai and Michael Haneke on sharing the prize.

Congratulations also to Hilary Horn, who took part in the voting and was selected as our winner of free tickets to Landmark Theatres. Thanks to everyone who voted. Stay tuned for more contests – and even more movies to watch on Fandor. In the meantime, catch up with our two winning films:
