Author Jay McInerney dubbed the young Chloë Sevigny the “It” girl of the 1990s. Like Bianca Jagger and Edie Sedgwick before her, Sevigny was at the center of an arty social milieu in New York. She also made films with Larry Clark and Harmony Korine that defined their gritty time. It seems obvious to me that Sevigny would chew up and spit out Heather Locklear for lunch, and that neatly defines the difference between ’80s and ’90s girls with “It.”
