Filmwax Radio: Jay Rosenblatt on What We Can’t Forget

JAY ROSENBLATT

Jay Rosenblatt

Experimental filmmaker Jay Rosenblatt, creator of Phantom Limb, is the guest in the first segment of this episode. Rosenblatt takes a unique approach to storytelling and often combines vintage found footage with highly personal narratives told through voiceover. The results are unforgettable and quite moving. Rosenblatt has been making films for some thirty years, many of which have screened at Sundance, and been televised on HBO and POV. The good news is that now a number of those films can be viewed on Fandor. In addition to his filmmaking, Rosenblatt is also an educator, a mental health professional and the Program Director for the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival.

In the second segment of the show, Schartoff welcomes  IFP (Independent Filmmaker Project) staff members Rose Vincelli (Producer and Program Manager) and Dan Schoenbrun (Communications and Programming Coordinator). Dan and Rose discuss a number of IFP’s current initiatives including the upcoming filmmaker labs.
