In memory of Manoel de Oliveira, the ageless director who finally left us last week at age 106, here’s a video essay tribute to one of his great late period achievements. The Strange Case of Angelica, made when Oliveira was a sprightly 102 years old, stands tall as one of this decade’s most hauntingly beautiful works of cinema.
