Last night, the SAG Awards gave further clarity to what will be an interesting race for Oscar glory. Following its triumph at the Golden Globes, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri continued to take home the biggest prizes, with Frances McDormand winning Oustanding Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Sam Rockwell taking home the prize for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, and the film winning Outstanding Performance by a Cast. With so many strong contenders this year, we will have to wait to find out if the film’s success at the SAG Awards and Golden Globes translates to a big Oscar night, or if it will be triumphed over by Darkest Hour, for which Gary Oldman took home Outstanding Performance by an Actor, or if a dark horse will surprise…cough, Lady Bird, cough.
