I Screen for Ice Cream

Play Video

I’m not saying it’s the reason that Ronald Reagan was known as “The Great Communicator,” but the fact that the fortieth President of the United States is the man who signed into law National Ice Cream Month and National Ice Cream Day shows a common touch that other presidents can only dream of.

I mean, who doesn’t like ice cream? Its ability to act as a centerpiece, a tasty snack for kids, or a topping on other desserts like pie or cake, makes it essential. It can serve as a symbol of innocence and childhood, or chaste romance, or even seduction. Movies have long been wise to ice cream’s cinematic uses and meanings, so think of this video as ice cream’s very own PSA. Sing along if you know it: I screen, you screen, we all screen for ice screen!
