Embracing the Absurd with Takashi Miike

Play Video

A true master of the mash-up genre, Takashi Miike has become a veritable legend of cinema. With a career that spans over a hundred films, the Japanese master has done everything in and outside the book, from ninjas to a giant frog warrior. Some of the most exciting genres in cinema have been covered by Miike: exploitation, yakuza, horror, drama, sci-fi — you name it and he’s done it. And in doing so, he’s gained a reputation as a rather extreme and controversial filmmaker. But we know one thing for certain: No matter what his next project is, Miike is sure to deliver the thrills.
